Introduction

Black Incense is an adult narrative RPG set in the modern world, a story of desire, corruption, and hidden power. The game follows a young woman whose ordinary life in London begins to unravel as she’s drawn into a secret network of cults, political intrigue, and esoteric forces that move beneath the city’s surface.

This is a project about agency, about how far you will go for your goals, what you are prepared to risk, and what you will become. Every choice matters, every alliance carries a cost, and every encounter reveals more of the machinery beneath the skin of the world.

I’m building Black Incense as an ongoing, evolving work, a game that grows each month in scope, depth, and consequence. Your support makes that possible. 

Synopsis

London, present day.

A city of glass and shadow, of secret orders and shifting loyalties. Beneath its polished surface lies another world, one of whispered rites, hidden societies, and ancient appetites disguised as modern ambition.

You play as a 19-year-old university student whose life begins to fracture after a chance encounter pulls her into this network of power, lust, and secrecy. From there, Black Incense becomes whatever you make of it: an espionage thriller, an occult mystery, a descent into temptation, or a rise to mastery.

Every choice shapes not just her fate, but the forces surrounding her. You decide who she trusts, who she betrays, what she desires, and what she’s willing to lose.

Each decision opens new paths, closes others, and alters the course of the story in ways both subtle and irreversible.

This is an interactive, adult narrative built on moral complexity and consequence, where seduction, danger, and agency intertwine.

The Prologue introduces Molly over nearly twenty years of her life. It is a substantial, fully playable chapter with over 100,000 words of narrative, 200+ original images, and 30 unlockable sex scenes. It defines Molly’s personality, relationships, talents, and the early choices that shape her path.

Season One, Episode One, however, is where everything changes. Taking place over a single night, it marks the moment Molly steps beyond the familiar and into the world that has been circling her from the shadows. This chapter sets the tone for the story ahead: grounded, psychological, morally complex, and driven by the consequences of your decisions.

Development Pathway

Black Incense is being developed as an ongoing, serialized narrative. Each month will bring a new release that expands the story, adds new scenes, and deepens the choices available to the player. This rhythm allows the world to grow steadily while giving patrons a genuine sense of progression and involvement.

The first full season will follow the main character’s introduction to the hidden world beneath modern London. While the Prologue captures her life before everything changes, the coming episodes will trace her descent into intrigue, power, and desire. Each release builds on the last, with new characters, storylines, and decisions that shape how the wider narrative unfolds.

This structure is intended to allow Black Incense to evolve like a prestige television series, a long-form story told in episodes, each crafted to deliver both closure and anticipation. Supporting the project now means becoming part of that ongoing process, watching the story grow from the inside as it moves from its beginnings toward something far larger.

About Me

I’ve always been drawn to stories that treat choice, consequence, and desire as serious storytelling tools. Black Incense grew out of that impulse. I wanted to create an adult game that isn’t built on cliché or repetition, but on depth, atmosphere, and intelligence. A story that understands sexuality as part of a larger human experience spanning ambition, morality, desire, power.

I work on Black Incense whenever I can around a full-time job. It takes a lot of time and effort, but I genuinely enjoy building this world and seeing it take shape piece by piece. My aim is to keep the project consistent and professional, every month bringing something new for players to explore.

Quick question though, concerning the erotic part of this story, is there a list of kinks somewhere?

What should we expect for the content in these sex scenes?

Hi, thanks! In terms of presently, the game has the following kinks/genre settings:

2DCG, AI CG, BUKKAKE, CHEATING, CORRUPTION, CHARACTER CREATION, CREAMPIE, DATING SIM, FEMALE PROTAGONIST, GROUP SEX, HANDJOB, INTERRACIAL, LESBIAN, ORAL SEX, POINT AND CLICK, POV, ROMANCE, STRIPPING, VAGINAL SEX, VIRGIN

I am planning on adding most of what might be considered 'vanilla' kinks to the game, from anal to sex toys to orgies etc etc. The hard line is at anything that breaches Patreon's ToS as that is where I get most of my income from the game. That means no incest, bestiality, non-consensual, golden showers, and a few other things as well. Luckily I wasn't planning on adding in any of those anyway, but this gives me extra reasons not to! If there is a specific kink you are interested in then I'm happy to follow up with a comment about that.

The reason I am asking is because some game have lesbian as tag, but it's basically one scene.

Yeah absolutely, I'd be happy to - I'm really excited by the range of lesbian paths I have planned. In terms of major paths (not just one off encounters) there will be lesbian paths in game for Imogen, Sienna, and Joy (Molly's three flatmates), Charnelle and Esme (who you meet briefly on the Northgate/Marchmain paths in the prologue), and three other characters, two of whom you are yet to meet, one of whom you may have met very briefly. For all of these, as major paths, there will be different branches within the romances, at the very least two variances for if you want to play a more wholesome or more corrupt paths. There will also be a bunch of minor paths/encounters as well along the way with more minor characters. 

My roadmap for the game as a whole is 6-7 seasons of 10 episodes each - I'm basically plotting this out a bit like a prestige TV series, where there is an overarching story across the whole series, and then each season can have self-contained arcs, and each episode is a meaningful story within that. So some of the lesbian paths will be slower burns, but there will certainly be more possible lesbian encounters for players who want to seek them out within Season One, you won't have to wait too long for more content (and on top of the lesbian encounter in the prologue with Mathilde, whilst it is a solo thing, in the newly released Season One Episode One with the masturbation scene there are three different lesbian oriented paths for players to choose to either watch lesbian porn, fantasise about Mathilde, and/or fantasise about Imogen).

There will indeed also be dom/sub elements at play - this also goes for the female and male relationships, and in fact in next weeks dev diary I'm planning on talking a little more about how I'll be implementing systems like these, as it will form the basis of part of Episode Two next month (although in that context revolving around Josh).

Again, sorry if I may have missed it somewhere, but are each of those path mutually exclusive? Can you be with multiples partners at the same time? Get your own little harem rolling 😉. 

And yes, always down with more minor characters sexual interaction, more variety is always nice but I do hope we get some choice in them too and not just one paragraph hook-up text.

Definitely excited for that Dom/Sub system selection especially if it can also be applies into the lesbian path. A bit of lezdom here and there to give it some spice!

But definitely looking forward for more of it. However,  without wanting to throw shade on your skills, just want to make sure this project doesn't become overwhelming with all those different factors / branches you mentioned that you have to take into account. The code may be become more and more spaghetti and I don't wish the updates to get bogged down because of it. As in "biting more than one can chew" type of scenario.

Thanks - and yes, it is ambitious, but my view has always been one release at a time, and we'll see where we get to, although always good to have a destination and a rough story mapped out!

In terms of paths being mutually exclusive vs multiple partners, this will vary depending on the character and path taken, but there certainly will be options to take multiple partners at once, sometimes via cheating/secrecy, sometimes in a more open way. 

And I don't consider that throwing shade at all, it is a worthwhile question to raise, this space is filled with abandoned games from developers who burn out/bite off more than they can chew. I've gone in with my eyes open, I talk about this a lot in my dev diaries, how I am trying to make the workload sustainable each month. A few other people have asked me about how I plan to keep the branching nature of the game manageable - there's a number of facets to this, but I think the main one to highlight is that I will approach it the same way lots of other RPGs do.

A good example of this I think is Baldur's Gate 3 (I'm not claiming I will quite be able to match BG3 level as a solo dev, but the general approach is a good one). Whilst there is a ton of choice and ways to play the game and numerous outcomes, there are set 'beats' to the story everyone follows. Act 1 is always centred around the Druid's Grove and Camp of the Absolute, and there are numerous ways that can end. But then it converges again on Act 2, where regardless of choices beforehand, you then follow again a new arc in the shadowlands, which again can have multiple outcomes, and so on, and so forth. 

Another good example are the KOTOR games where each planet is a set 'act' that you play through, and can make whatever choices you want there, and then you go to the next planet, and whilst certain past choices may influence certain things, by and large the next act is its own self contained thing. 

In this way you avoid the unsustainable branching that quickly makes a game impossible to keep up with development wise:


Of course, it is a bit more complicated than that, as you are effectively dealing with multiple storylines (e.g. the main storyline, the storyline for each relationship, minor storylines) that may sometimes intersect with others. But by keeping all these storylines to a model that looks more like the diagram on the right, it becomes a lot easier to deal with!

This is a great story. Great premise. Great writing. Clearly a labor of love. I just downloaded it and I'm already hooked. But the art...

It looks great for what it is, but the AI generated art takes me right out of the fiction. Dead eyes. Eyes that are closed when they should be open, or not focused where they should. It's more than distracting, it's unsettling. There is some serious uncanny valley going on. I can't even look at the art, I'm just reading the story. It's not your fault, it's the limitations of the technology. 

You've crafted a world that deserves better. Don't settle for creepy AI ghouls. I say this in all sincerity. This has the potential to be a spectacular AVN, but to get there you need an artist.

My preference would certainly be for human made art over AI art if possible, but right now, just starting out, I don't have anything close to the funds required, and I'm not a visual artist myself. If in future the opportunity presented itself then I would take it - at the very least as AI capabilities develop further and I learn more I absolutely will refine older images as I go. You are right - this is a labour of love - and at the moment this is the only way for me to make what I am making. But I am always seeking to get better!
